Shortfalls of 2D Manufacturing

Product development has embraced the benefits of 3D CAD solutions for
years. However, many organizations are still using 2D paper drawings to
convey the information needed for manufacturing. Learn in this white paper
the many ways model-based definition (MBD) helps manufacturers.

Can Manual PCB Routing & Automation Coexist?

Historically, the best design printed circuit boards (PCB) auto-routing
success is achieved when the design team has taken time to plan, place,
constrain and prioritize the design database with auto-routing in mind.
This paper describes how to enable PCB designers to route high-quality,
rule-driven designs quickly and easily with the look and feel of a
hand-routed design.

DDR4 Design & Signal Integrity Challenges

New factors in DDR4, such as an asymmetric termination scheme, data bus
inversion and signal validation using eye masks require new methods of
validating designs through simulation. This paper investigates the effects
of DDR4’s Pseudo Open Drain (POD) driver on data bus signaling and
describes methodologies for dynamically calculating the DRAM’s internal
VrefDQ level required for data eye analysis.

Avoiding Reed Relay Problems

Reed relays are often considered a mundane component by design engineers
and sometimes little thought is given to the finer points of their
specifications. If used correctly, reed relays are very reliable devices.
Discover how to avoid common problems to greatly enhance the reliability
and performance of your designs.

Jitter Noise Duality & Anatomy of an Eye Diagram

As the technology of serial data transmission has developed there has been
alternating emphasis on the jitter problem or the noise problem. This paper
compares two approaches where the structure of the eye diagram is
considered either as a timing uncertainty or alternatively a vertical
uncertainty. It shows that only the second view allows accurate BER
evaluation, even if the eye is closed.
