We received = the sample of flokati with jute backing, thank you for sending so = quickly.  When comparing to the original sample, there were some = key differences I wanted to point out.  When measuring the pile, it = is about 9-10mm vs about 13-15mm for the original sample.  Also, I = think because the new sample is a little denser, the pattern is sharper = compared to the original.  The customer really liked the authentic = look of the original sample, just wanted a little more substantial = backing. 

 

I am = attaching a few pictures to show and we can send a cutting of each = sample if you=E2=80=99d like to compare as well.

Can you let me know if the new sample was made = correctly or if it is supposed to have a higher pile?

Be sure we finished our = all yarns and we gave yarn orders for production. It will take time to = get the yarns. But I can say one alternative for you. At the beginning = we tried 2 different weft yarn for Plush quality which is higher version = of Flokati. We tried one sample with jute the other one with cotton. I = hope the samples can help you to see the difference. If you want I can = send 2 samples to you. One with jute backing 1 with cotton from Plush = quality. This is the only solution I can find for = you.

Yeliz,

If that is = the case then it will be too late.  The buyer is working on the = program this week and if the sample is later than the end of next week = we probably won=E2=80=99t be considered.  It=E2=80=99s a large = chain of stores here so it could be a great program but I understand if = it will take too long to make the changes.  Please just see the = best you can do and I can check with the buyer if it = works.

Yeliz,

If you do = end up making a sample of the Flokati with the jute backing, it would be = best if you made it in the 200x290 size with no fringe in her = pattern.

This way if the buyer = approves the construction, we can use that as her sample and move = faster.

Information for the sample = she liked is attached- if it=E2=80=99s easier to weave a different size = we can work with it.

Yeliz,

We will be = putting the Belmont (Farmhouse) order in as soon as we have the scaled = designs =E2=80=93 very excited to get started.

 

Regarding = the Flokati product, we met with a large customer yesterday who did = express interest in Flokati, it is one of the largest in the US so great = potential.  They liked the design and the feel of the face, but = they want to run a promotion and were pressuring us on price.  They = would want to run with no fringe, which will lower the price, but they = also wanted something more substantial for the backing.  Is there = another backing material you can use to make the product more = substantial and help lower the cost as well?  We were thinking = about either an action back or maybe a canvas.

 

Please let = me know some options on this.
