Travel policies everywhere are changing. In some ways, orga= nizations are getting stricter while in others they are relaxing, allowing = somewhat more flexibility for their travelers. At least that's what it look= s like from the preliminary results of the Travel Policy survey AP Now is c= onducting with PDG.

The survey looks at all parts of the travel policy so parti= cipants can see just how their organization stacks up. What's more, it also= take a look at how organizations are addressing some of the new services s= uch as Uber, Lyft, and Airbnb.

What You Get. To thank everyone who takes the survey, we'll provide = you with an Executive Summary of the results plus invite you to a webinar w= here the results will be discussed. The webinar will be held on November 15= at 2pm ET and will include a review of some best travel practices. One (1)= CPE will be awarded to those who attend the webinar.

A Little Humor = If you've already taken the survey, you know we asked about the outrageous = expense report item encountered. We had a good laugh reading them and thoug= ht we'd share a few here.
  • There are sooooo many! (Note: There were more than a few= variations of this one).
  • We had an employee who= went in the ditch with his personal vehicle on his way to work, his normal= day to day commute, so no special travel. He submitted the towing costs to= the company for reimbursement and was irate that we disallowed it because = he was on his way to work.
  • Requesting a reimburse= ment for legos (was listed on the expense report as a meal).
