There were some really good questions from the audience. This is an issue every organization, regardless of size, will face in the next few years. Here's one that brings up a really important issue. The Question: What if a bot is hijacked and issues fraudulent payments and electronic funds transfers? The Answer: There are several steps everyone should take. * Talk to the software company. See what fraud protocols they have built in. This should be part of the vetting process used when deciding which company to go with. * When setting up new processes, whether they involve, bots or not, make sure you include the strongest internal controls you can. * Before you go live with this or any new process, talk to your insurance company. How = to Prevent AI Payment Fraud

Yesterday, we held our AI (artificial intelligence) talk. T= here were some really good questions from the audience.  This is an is= sue every organization, regardless of size, will face in the next few years= . Here's one that brings up a really important issue.

The Question:= What if a bot is hijacked and issues fraudulent payments= and electronic funds transfers?

The Answer: There ar= e several steps everyone should take.
  • Talk to the software company. See what fraud protocols they have bu= ilt in. This should be part of the vetting process used when deciding which= company to go with.
     
  • When setting up new processes, whe= ther they involve, bots or not, make sure you include the strongest interna= l controls you can.
     
  • Before you go live with this or any= new process, talk to your insurance company. Many learned the hard way tha= t the business insurance they had did not cover Business Email Compromised = fraud losses. Don't let that happen again.
