There are so many places an organization can slip up. One of the most common (and believe me, auditors know to look there) is forgetting to accrue use tax on expenditures made by your employees. The Solution: To make sure you are accruing all the use tax required examine employee expense reports and p-card purchases. Look for online purchases and make sure they paid the appropriate sales tax. If none was charged, as is often the case, accrue and pay the use tax. Don't forget to look at the charge slips of purchases made by employees on their personal credit cards. You may find no sales tax charged on these as well. The Problem: Sales and u= se tax audits are not fun. There are so many places an organization can sli= p up. One of the most common (and believe me, auditors know to look there) = is forgetting to accrue use tax on expenditures made by your employees.

The Solution: To make su= re you are accruing all the use tax required examine employee expense repor= ts and p-card purchases. Look for online purchases and make sure they paid = the appropriate sales tax. If none was charged, as is often the case, accru= e and pay the use tax. Don't forget to look at the charge slips of purchase= s made by employees on their personal credit cards. You may find no sales t= ax charged on these as well.
