Cambridge Analytica, a company that profiled voter= s for Donald Trump=E2=80=99s campaign, allegedly harvested private informat= ion from more than 50 million Facebook profiles, which they used to influen= ce and wage a =E2=80=9Cculture war=E2=80=9D during the 2016 election.

Whistleblower Christopher Wylie, who helped found Cambridge Analytica and = served as their director of research until 2014, told NBC News' U.K. partne= r ITN Channel 4 News that the company helped develop an application on Face= book that paid individuals to take a survey and gathered as much data as po= ssible from each account unless they had changed their security settings. T= he company denied using any data that was harvested from Facebook to help t= he Trump campaign.
