Here are a few statistics from noted experts. * Cyber-attacks are not just about technology and theft of data, says PwC. 24% of the cyber-attacks are involved with asset misappropriation and 11% are involved procurement fraud. * A Kroll report notes that all types of cyber fraud increasing. It confirms PwC's view that insiders need to be considered a threat. The report also points out that ex-employees continue to pose the greatest threat to companies around the world. Fraud: The Ongoing Conundrum

The Question: It seems th= at every time you pick up the newspaper, or get online to read the news, th= ere's another story about a new fraud or some big data breach or account hi= jacking. Sometimes you have to wonder, what's the fuss is this really as se= rious as the press would have you believe?

The Sad Facts: Alas,= the answer is yes. It is a big deal and something every organization needs= to be concerned about. Here are a few statistics from noted experts.

  • Cyber-attacks are not just about technology and theft of data, says= PwC. 24% of the cyber-attacks are involved with asset misappropriation and= 11% are involved procurement fraud.

  • A Kroll report note= s that all types of cyber fraud increasing. It confirms PwC's view that ins= iders need to be considered a threat. The report also points out that ex-em= ployees continue to pose the greatest threat to companies around the world.=
