Has this happened to you? A vendor calls up and demands payment swearing someone in purchasing promised them their payment early. You pick up the phone and call over to purchasing ready to have a few choice words with the individual in question only to be informed you are venting at the wrong person. The purchasing professional never made any promises; the vendor is lying. Why do they do? They want their money and they know that often the lie works. Your Action Plan Step 1: You may have figured this step out. Always verify what the claim. Step 2: If it turns out you are dealing with a liar, confront them immediately and politely. Step 3: If they continue to insist the person made the promise, suggest a conference call with the person who made the promise. It ca= n be a shock when it happens, especially if you make the assumption that ev= eryone tells the truth. Has this happened to you? A vendor calls up and de= mands payment swearing someone in purchasing promised them their payment ea= rly. You pick up the phone and call over to purchasing ready to have a few = choice words with the individual in question only to be informed you are ve= nting at the wrong person.
The p= urchasing professional never made any promises; the vendor is lying. Why do= they do? They want their money and they know that often the lie works.
Your Action Plan
Step = 1: You may have figured this step out. Always verify what the claim.
Step = 2: If it turns out you are dealing with a liar, confront them immediately a= nd politely.
Step = 3: If they continue to insist the person made the promise, suggest a confer= ence call with the person who made the promise.
