A Trojan horse, known alternatively as Zusy, OTLARD, and Gootkit, hides in links and images in PowerPoint presentations. How It Works: It is activated when users hover their mouse over links and images in an infected PowerPoint slide deck. Protection: Be suspicious of any slide deck that comes from an unknown source. This is especially true when searching the Internet and landing on a site with a slide deck. You will note that most of the time, when a partner sends you a actual slide deck you receive a pdf of it rather than the actual PowerPoint. Be aware that while the virus is said to only be in certain PowerPoint documents for now, who knows when that will expand. So, the following advice bears repeating. If you receive any email with an attachment from an unknown source, do not download it! If you don't download it, you can't get into trouble. More Best Practice Advice: Recent AP Now surveys show that only 9% of all companies are using a separate computer for their online banking. That number should be much higher. If you have a separate computer for online banking and use it for nothing else, the potential damage will be much less if you inadvertently download keylogging software. = What It Is: Fraudsters have found still another way t= o get into your email and more importantly, into your computer so they can = steal your banking credentials. A Trojan horse, known alternatively as Zusy= , OTLARD, and Gootkit, hides in links and images in PowerPoint presentation= s.

= How It Works: It is activated when users hover their = mouse over links and images in an infected PowerPoint slide deck.

Protection: Be suspicious of any slide deck tha= t comes from an unknown source. This is especially true when searching the = Internet and landing on a site with a slide deck. You will note that most o= f the time, when a partner sends you a actual slide deck you receive a pdf = of it rather than the actual PowerPoint.

Be aware th= at while the virus is said to only be in certain PowerPoint documents for n= ow, who knows when that will expand. So, the following advice bears repeati= ng. If you receive any email with an attachment from an unknown source, do = not download it! If you don't download it, you can't get into trouble.

More Best Practice Advice: Recent AP Now survey= s show that only 9% of all companies are using a separate computer for thei= r online banking. That number should be much higher. If you have a separate= computer for online banking and use it for nothing else, the potential dam= age will be much less if you inadvertently download keylogging software.
