Why? The reason is that a devious employee could simply write down the card number, the expiration date and the three or four digit code. They could use this information to go shopping on the Internet and this would create a huge headache for you. Unfortunately, in situations where this has occurred, recovery from the former employee is difficult and often never occurred. Equally regrettable is the fact that many organizations do not notify the bank of the card cancellation immediately, occasionally resulting in a free shopping spree for the former employee. When an employee = leaves your organization, which of the following steps do you think is more= important?
  1. Getting their company credit card back
  2. Notifying the bank that the credit card was canceled

    While it is ideal= to both get the card back and notify the bank, if only one of those tasks = is done, it should be notifying the bank. Why? The reason is that a devious= employee could simply write down the card number, the expiration date and = the three or four digit code. They could use this information to go shoppin= g on the Internet and this would create a huge headache for you.

    Unfortunate= ly, in situations where this has occurred, recovery from the former employe= e is difficult and often never occurred. Equally regrettable is the fact th= at many organizations do not notify the bank of the card cancellation immed= iately, occasionally resulting in a free shopping spree for the former empl= oyee.
