Loftware's product team is excited to announce the release of Loftware Print Server (LPS) 11.1 and Loftware Label Manager (LLM) 11.1. Version 11.1 greatly improves the customer experience offering enhanced usability and print performance. This new release, which offers numerous quality and performance enhancements, reduces maintenance time, enables users to meet complex color labeling demands, and allows customers to further optimize print performance.

What are the major new features introduced in version 11.1?

  • Enhanced Support for Bulk Printer Configuration and Management allows users the ability to import and export printers and their associated configuration details to multiple printers at one time. Bulk changes can be made to hundreds or thousands of printers which improves usability and reduces device maintenance time. 
  • Support for an Expanded Number of Print Groups removes a restriction on the total number of print groups that can be configured. This enables customers with a large number of printers to optimize print performance. Customers can now organize print devices for peak performance, by location or department and by printer family where special configurations are needed, without being restricted to the previous limit of 5 print groups.
  • Expanded RFID Support offers customers enhanced printing capabilities and enables users to use more Gen II tags including Impinj UHF Gen 2 (Monza), TI UHF Gen 2 (Dallas), and UHF Gen 2 as well as offering support for larger capacity RFID tags that exceed the previous 96 bit limit. This enhanced RFID functionality is now native to the Zebra’s ZPLII printer language enabling customers with much greater flexibility when selecting a target printer.
  • Support for the Epson ColorWorks TM-C7500 Series of Printers (ESC/Label Driver) offers improved printing performance to a wider range of color printers. The ESC/Label driver enables customers to get the speed and performance of a native driver while removing the requirement of having pre-printed label stock. At the same time, the driver supports existing label templates currently using ZPLII language. This capability should allow users to quickly transfer existing templates to color without needing to recreate templates from scratch, minimizing maintenance.
  • Enhanced OS Support: The LPS/LLM 11.1 release offers support for Microsoft Windows Server 2016.

Loftware’s best practices highly recommend testing any new LPS release in a Non-Production TEST instance prior to bringing the new release into production.
