It is difficult to get everything you need for a cred= it report as most of them have outdated financial information=2E One of the= best things you can do especially for your major customers is to get audit= ed financial statements=2E Any account that you sell to that is publicly tr= aded has financial statements available on their State's SEC=2EGOV website= =2E
 
Once you have the financial statements you now have t= he information and tools you need to make determinations for: Do you grant = them a loan, do we buy our next piece of equipment from them, and will they= be around to support the product if something goes wrong? Do we sell to th= em and how much?
  • What'=80=99s in a number, if a company has a current = ratio of 2:1 what does that mean and will I base my credit decision on that= number?
  • If I see grocery stores have an average inventory tur= nover of 45:1 and mine is only 9:1 are we doing something wrong?
  • Ratios by themselves cannot always give you everythin= g you need so you need to be resourceful and know where to go to get the an= swers=2E
