I gave a bunch of students a task out to disable JavaScript on their browser then visit a bunch of their favourite websites and write about how their browsing experiences changed (it was an introduction to web design). One student decided he was going to write a fucking essay for each website. Most people handed in a single sheet of A4 paper that took about 30 seconds to mark. He handed in a BINDER. I was looking for "I can no longer and has changed in these ways". This kid went PAGE BY PAGE on his favourite websites, writing a DETAILED analysis of EVERYTHING he could find that changed. Craziest thing? I had only handed out the homework the night before and had stressed that I wasn't looking for much. Just a couple of paragraphs.

I don't like giving out homework - it was just a box tick for some career development shit. He got TWO excellent stamps on his homework. Teaching Computer Science is weird.
