Content preview: Walgrees Message The way I see it, the teams to beat in the
West are the Spurs, Thunder, Clips, Rockets. From there, I'd argue that the
Blazers and Grizz are as good, if not better than a Warriors team minus Klay,
David Lee, and whomever else they give up. There's no doubt that Love makes
this a much better team but they're still not better than the 6th team in
the West and they're not contending for the title. They're like a more talented
version of the Bucks in the Kohl-era: they're making moves to improve their
roster but the most they'll ever do is get out of the first round. There's
no way this team beats the Spurs or the Thunder in a 7 game series. The Warriors
have a solid core but they just don't have enough talent to beat Westbrook
and Durant and definitely not the Spurs. Maybe I'm overvaluing the Warriors'
assets, but the Spurs put on a clinic of using role players in a system that
led them to victory. You're getting Bogut back healthy for the next year
and a very young but promising core. Why not let them develop more? Because
while Kevin Love is a top 10 player, he is not going to elevate this team
in the stacked West. What do you think the Warriors ceiling in the West can
be? 4th? Does Kevin Love make it out of the second round? [...]
