    night on r/weddings, but I would love to share my story: I hope this is the
    right place for this, but I feel like I'm suffering from shock right now
   from today's events and I just need to unload. It's going to be long - you
    have been warned. So today I found out that my dress designer lied to me
   on multiple issues about my dress. Also that she delayed delivering my dress
    till the last possible moment so I would be forced to take it despite its
    flaws. And after seeing it, I didn't take it. It's 2 1/2 weeks till my wedding
    and I don't have a dress. While that sounds like a fair bit of time to get
    an off the rack dress (which I'm not against) it's difficult because my wedding
    is a full traditional Indian wedding, and I live in Perth, Australia - home
    of not that many Indian bridal stores. My wedding will also be here, and
   my fiance has already had his Indian wedding suit made (beautifully in fact)
    in a color that was meant to match my dress. So why didn't I just buy an
   Indian bridal gown online? A few reasons. Firstly I'm pretty Australian (I'm
    Indian but I grew up here), so I really wanted my dress to reflect that.
   A kind of 'east meets west' look. Something elegant but also blingy because
    while I love a trip to the beach I also like my biryani. With tomato sauce.
    (I'm sorry!) So I found a local Indian wear designer, and gave her examples
    of what I wanted my dress to look like. We hashed out a design, and she said
    she would be going to India during the year and get all the material sourced
    and sorted. What I really really wanted was something I had seen in Malaysia
    a few months back - it was a dress that incorporated cut work (I.e the material
    between crystal beads had been cut out to reveal the satin underneath). I
    also wanted lace on my dress because...well it felt very traditionally western
    and I liked that. And I wanted it in white, with blue accents, and a beautiful
    blue (headscarf). For reference, here are some of the pics I used to explain
