Content preview: Consumer Email Message Sophomore year came and went, and with
it came my baby sister, who is an absolute joy. She is adorable and happy
and it's great being her oldest brother. And Junior year I had my two best
teachers, both the AP teachers in the subjects I picked. I hope I make them
proud. Spring Break for Junior year involved visiting my mom's dad for a
week. He had also been apart of my life a lot when I was growing up, I just
didn't have a good place to introduce him. He loved history too and drove
me to the Lincoln presidential museum. Someone, probably Mom, had told Dad
I was close by and he visited me that spring break. It may have been only
a couple hours but it was what I needed. After my Junior year I was invited
by the University I was interested in (the one my mom went to, and the one
I always wanted to go to, not the least because that's the town where Dad
lived) and Mom took me there. I was invited because of my high test scores.
That was when Mom had the idea to move us there. We looked for houses over
the summer, she found one she liked and it. That summer I was at camp for
the last time, which was really emotional for me, as I'm fairly certain I
hold the record for most weeks visited as a camper. The counselor I had that
week was one of my favorites. He had been working there as a maintenance
guy when he was in high school the first summer I went there, then became
a counselor. Who better to be my counselor than him that week? It was extra
special because I planned it meticulously. I went 4 weeks that summer and
my second week was for the program he was leading. By coincidence there was
a large youth event that week, so we had only one houseboat. Normally there
are 4. Why was this week so important? Because it was the week of my golden
birthday! I was turning 17 on the 17th of the month during my 17th week of
camp. The kitchen at camp packed us a birthday cake to eat that day, and
the counselor allowed me to use the cell phone he had for emergencies to call
my mom. She told me that we would be moving to the town [...]
