He hated th= e fact that I loved theater and mocked and criticized everything I ever tri= ed to do. As a teen, I discovered that my father molested two of my friends and my un= cle when he was a child. Later I would also realize how he molested me when= I was half asleep. If I was wet I was beat, if I was dry I was fondled. As an adult, I turned to alcohol to self-medicate my pain. Had an organization like Safe Horizon been around when I was young, perhaps= I could have had an easier and healthier experience with my healing proces= s. Perhaps I would not have continued to suffer the emotional and physical = abuse I was subjected to. Yes, the issue of child abuse is near and dear to my heart and this is what= drew me to Safe Horizon. I give back because right now there is a child pretending that they can sit= without grimacing in pain. Right now there is a child pretending that everything is OK even though the= y have a parent who belittles and threatens them all the time. And right now there is a team of professionals at a Safe Horizon CAC who wi= ll help that child heal. Today I am an award-winning actor, writer, and monologist.
