A Message from the Desk of Rabbi Steven Burg
Dear Aish Family=2C

I hope everyone had a meaningful Passover. After the holiday=2C I spent ti=
me speaking with many members of our community to find out how everyone en=
joyed the Chag. Many of you told me moving stories about how you used the=
 Seder as a tool to educate your families and friends. I want to share wit=
h you one story of a real Aish hero who should inspire us all.

Rabbi Avram Rothman has been the spiritual leader at the Aish Thornhill Co=
mmunity Shul & Learning center for the past 12 years. In addition to being=
 ordained at Ner Israel Rabbinical College of Baltimore=2C Rabbi Rothman h=
olds a PhD in Comparative Literature and a Master of Science in Guidance &=
 Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Most importantly he is truly on=
e of the warmest and most sincere Rabbis in the world.

In partnering with his amazing Rebetzin Ruth Rothman=2C who is also a regi=
stered nurse with certification in a number of areas including psychiatric=
=2C obstetrics=2C major surgical and pediatrics=2C they have created an Ai=
sh Shul in Toronto that many call their second home.

I spoke with Rabbi Rothman about a communal issue and of course=2C the con=
versation veered into how our relative Passover=E2=80=99s were. Rabbi Roth=
man was so excited. He told me that he tracked how many questions he had b=
een asked regarding the laws of Passo ver this year by email=2C phone and=
=2C perhaps most importantly in our generation=2C by text. He said he set=
 a new personal record with over 800 questions fielded!! I was speechless.=
 Most of us have enough trouble getting ready for Passover without finding=
 the time for 800 questions.

The next part was even more beautiful. Rabbi Rothman told me that many que=
stions he received were about how to engage less observant Jews who were c=
oming to the Seder. Start times=2C menus etc. How beautiful and special it=
 is to be a part of the Aish community when you are so focused on being op=
en and welcoming to all of our Jewish brothers and sisters.

As I write these words=2C it is Holocaust Remembrance Day. My heart breaks=
 while thinking about the six million Jewish souls that were butchered. Ou=
r mandate must be to strengthen the Jewish Nation. Strength only comes wit=
h unity and the mission of the Aish community must be to welcome every Jew=
 into our homes. May the Almighty bless us all with the strength and warmt=
h of Rabbi and Rebbetzin Rothman.

Aish Essex's Annual Pesach BBQ

Nearly 170 students and young professionals attended Aish Essex's Annual P=
esach BBQ. The students enjoyed ribs and other delicacies while enjoying G=
ladiator games (of course Rabbi Mendy Brukirer was the undefeated champion=
) as well as bungee races. This was an opportunity for a fun evening for t=
he students who come to classes and events all year round as well as a reu=
nion for the Aish UK South Africa Fellowships. New faces were introduced t=
o the Aish Essex community and old friendships reignited. As the evening f=
estivities came to an end=2C there was a surprise baby naming for a new me=
mber of the tribe! Mazal Tov Baby Leah!.
48 Ways To Wisdom Impacting Dallas Community
The Dallas Area Torah Association (DATA) has close to 200 hundred people l=
earning from Rabbi Noach Weinberg's
48 Ways to Wisdom adapted by Aish.com Editor-in-Chief=2C and longtime stud=
ent of Rav Noach=2C Rabbi Nechemia Coopersmith=2C and Rabbi Shraga Simmons=
=2C co-founder of Aish.com.  DATA has distributed 110 books as part of a p=
rogram to inspire people leading up to Kabbalas Hatorah. The community fee=
dback has been tremendous=2C with many learning the concepts with their sp=
ouses or entire families.

Major General Anthony P. German (c)=2C Adjutant General for the State of N=
ew York=2C and other senior National Guard officers were guests of the IDF=
 Home Command. German is also the Commander of the N.Y. Air National Guard=
 and the Commissioner of the Division of Military and Naval Affairs of the=
 State. The officers' visit to the Old City and to the Aish World Center O=
bservation Deck enhanced their understanding of the unique challenges that=
 face Jerusalem.


Soichiro Matsudaira=2C Executive Vice President=2C CTO=2C and Global Strat=
egist for the Toyota Tsusho Corporation was recently in Israel. His visit=
 to the Aish World Center was the highlight of his lightning stop to Jerus=
alem. Matsudaira is pictured here at the Hochstein Entrance after visiting=
 the Hall of Notes before going to the Kotel.


The Google Cloud EMEAPSM Group representing 12 offices in Europe=2C the Mi=
ddle East and the USA came on a working visit to Israel. The Aish World Ce=
nter was a late evening stop before returning to Tel Aviv.

unity to find out how everyone enjoyed the Chag. Many of you told me movin=
g stories about how you used the Seder as a tool to educate your families=
 and friends. I want to share with you one story of a real Aish hero who s=
hould inspire us all.&nbsp;<br>

Rabbi Avram Rothman has been the spiritual leader at the Aish Thornhill Co=
mmunity Shul &amp; Learning center for the past 12 years. In addition to b=
eing&nbsp;ordained at Ner Israel Rabbinical College of Baltimore=2C Rabbi=
 Rothman holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and a Master of Science in=
 Guidance &amp; Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Most importantly=
 he is truly one of the warmest and most sincere Rabbis in the world.&nbsp=

othman=2C who is also a&nbsp;registered nurse with certification in a numb=
er of areas including psychiatric=2C obstetrics=2C major surgical and pedi=
atrics=2C they have created an Aish Shul in Toronto that many call their s=
econd home.&nbsp;<br>

I spoke with Rabbi Rothman about a communal issue and of course=2C the con=
versation veered into how our relative Passover=E2=80=99s were. Rabbi Roth=
man was so excited. He told me that he tracked how many questions he had b=
een asked regarding the laws of Passo<img align=3D"right" data-file-id=3D"=

s fielded!! I was speechless. Most of us have enough trouble getting ready=
 for Passover without finding the time for 800 questions.&nbsp;<br>

The next part was even more beautiful. Rabbi Rothman told me that many que=
stions he received were about how to engage less observant Jews who&nbsp;w=
ere coming to the Seder. Start times=2C menus etc. How beautiful and speci=
al it is to be a part of the Aish community when you are so focused on bei=
ng open and welcoming to all of our Jewish brothers and sisters.&nbsp;<br>
<br>
As I write these words=2C it is Holocaust Remembrance Day. My heart breaks=
 while thinking about the six million Jewish souls that were butchered. Ou=
r mandate must be to strengthen the Jewish Nation. Strength only comes wit=
h unity and the mission of the Aish community must be to welcome every Jew=
