A Message from the Desk of Rabbi Steven Burg
Dear Aish Family=2C

This week the Aish family suffered a tragic loss after the passing of the=
 Tzadik (righteous man)=2C Rabbi Eric Most. As it is Purim and according t=
o Jewish law this is a festive time=2C I will wait until next week to writ=
e more about this holy Jew. Our hearts and deepest prayers are with Rabbi=
 Most's wife=2C Naomi Rivka and their children=2C Coby=2C Gavriel=2C and A=
dina.

Purim is the Aish HaTorah holiday. At its core=2C the story is about a you=
ng woman who found the courage to do the right thing and save the Jewish n=
ation. As Esther is married to a homicidal maniac who also happens to be t=
he king of Persia=2C she is the only person who can save the Jews from ann=
ihilation at the hand of the genocidal maniac Haman. When she is urged to=
 go to King Achashverosh and plead the Jewish case=2C she is scared.

Esther=E2=80=99s relative Mordecai tells her that even if not through her=
=2C the Almighty will find another way to save the Jewish people=2C and pe=
rhaps this is why the Almighty placed her in this position. At hearing her=
 uncle's words=2C she girds her strength and embarks on a mission to save=
 all of us.

This is really and truly what it means to be a Jewish hero. Our heroes do=
 not possess superhuman strength. Jewish heroes possess a superhuman heart=
=2E Our belief in Aish HaTorah is that every Jew possesses this potential. T=
he ability to rise up to any occasion and become a leader.

This week we lost someone who although small in physical stature=2C was a=
 lion and giant in terms of his service to the Jewish nation. As I mention=
ed at the outset=2C I will more fully paint a picture of our brother=2C th=
e hero Rabbi Eric Most zt'l next week. As has been the case so many times=
 in Jewish history=2C we will set aside our mourning to celebrate this fes=
tive time. It is important for all of us to know that even today=2C each a=
nd every one of us can become a great leader like Queen Esther. May the Al=
mighty empower all of us to fulfill our potential as leaders and may He gr=
ant us the courage to face the future without our dear friend Rabbi Eric M=
ost.

Visitors of the Aish HaTorah Dan Family World Center

Henry Kremer=2C alumni =E2=80=9878=2C came back after 40 years to visit Ai=
sh. Walking through the Jewish Quarter and seeing the Rosh Yeshivah tribut=
e film in the Kirk Douglas Theater brought back a lot of good memories.


Business Management students from around  the globe came together for a se=
mester at the Tel Aviv University MBM program. They came to tour Jerusalem=
 for a day which included a visit to the Aish World Center.

Ryan and Brittanie Gauld of Anchorage=2C Alaska=2C who both work in the U.=
S. Aviation field monitoring the skies=2C came to see Israel. Their visit=
 to the Aish World Center Observation Deck gave them a view that will sure=
ly be remembered.


The recent Post-College Birthright group came to the Aish World Center Obs=
ervation Deck for a final Jerusalem wrap up session before leaving the cou=
ntry.

A Hillel group from Brazil are in Israel for a two-month study tour progra=
m. They came to the Aish World Center Kirk Douglas Theater to hear a prese=
ntation from Dr. Gerald Schroeder on Evolution and the Age of the Universe=
=2E

i Most's wife=2C Naomi Rivka and their children=2C Coby=2C Gavriel=2C and=
 Adina.&nbsp;<br>

Purim is the Aish HaTorah holiday. At its core=2C the story is about a you=
ng woman who found the courage to do the right thing and save the Jewish n=
ation. As Esther is married to a homicidal maniac who also happens to be t=
he king of Persia=2C she is the only person who can save the Jews from ann=
ihilation at the hand of the genocidal maniac Haman. When she is urged to=
 go to King Achashverosh and plead the Jewish case=2C she is scared.&nbsp;=
<br>
<br>
Esther=E2=80=99s relative Mordecai tells her that even if not through her=
=2C the Almighty will find another way to save the Jewish people=2C and&nb=
sp;perhaps this is why the Almighty placed&nbsp;her in this position. At h=
earing her uncle's words=2C she girds her strength and embarks on a missio=
n to save all of us.&nbsp;<br>

This is really and truly what it means to be a Jewish hero. Our heroes do=
 not possess superhuman strength. Jewish heroes possess a superhuman heart=
=2E Our belief in Aish HaTorah is that every Jew possesses&nbsp;this potenti=
al. The ability to rise up to any occasion and become a leader.&nbsp;<br>
