This past week I spent s= ome time in a city a little closer to our global headquarters in Jerusalem= =2E I went to Tel Aviv. Aish Tel Aviv had beautiful offices near the beach where so many would com= e for classes. Recently they moved their offices=2C so I went to see their= new location. I admit I was suspect at first that this new spot would be= an improvement. After all=2C what can be so special about offices at WeWo= rk? It turns out that WeWork and Aish are a match made in heaven. For those of you who are not familiar=2C WeWork is a global network of wor= kspaces. You can lease an office and wind up sharing common space with so= many different professionals. It is a diverse community built at the plac= es =E2=80=9Cwe work.=E2=80=9D As I walked into the building I was struck b= y the diverse crowd of Israelis. It seems that WeWork is a melting pot of= creativity for people of all backgrounds. What impressed me even more=2C= was the warm welcome that Rabbi David Ziering and Rabbi Ephraim Shore rec= eived from almost everyone there. At WeWork=2C Aish Rabbis are seen as fellow professionals working in this= community. Come holiday time any questions that come up are directed to t= he Aish Tel Aviv offices. Aish is literally positioned at the cultural hot= spot of Tel Aviv. We had an Aish Tel Aviv board meeting which was also truly amazing. It was= a group of really successful business people who wanted to understand the= direction of Aish Global and how we could play a bigger role in Tel Aviv.= One of the board members who is a very successful attorney and former IDF= officer explained to me that until he was an adult and attended an Aish e= vent he never heard Kiddush in his life. So many times we assume that because Israelis know Hebrew and live in the= land given to us by the Almighty=2C they must know =E2=80=9CJewish stuff.= =E2=80=9D The opposite is true. There are so many Jews in Israel who know= nothing of their heritage. Aish Tel Aviv is working hard to change that s= ituation. The beauty of the WeWork partnership is that we have our classes there at= night when the space is fairly unoccupied. This gives so many young Israe= lis the ability to come to a space that is not intimidating. I couldn=E2=80=99t help but think that this represents what Aish has alway= s been about. For 40 years we have always tried to stay relevant to our br= others and sisters. We started a seminar called Discovery=2C for Jews to u= nderstand the Almighty=2C in a cutting-edge educational way and sent it ar= ound the world. They're excited now to start the new semester and to support our Hasbara F= ellows as they stand up for Israel on their campuses. Aish Thornhill Community Shul Progressive Dinner This past Saturday night=2C the Aish Thornhill Community Shul held its fou= rth annual Progressive Dinner for our members and friends. With over 70 pe= ople attending=2C the participants went all together to one home for appet= izers and instructions. Then we broke up into small groups of 6 - 10 peopl= e to go to a family home for the main course and we all concluded with a m= assive dessert reception at the home of Dr's Jeffrey & Beth Bernholtz. The= program organized by ATCS member Stephen Beker had a Super Hero/Villain t= heme with many people appearing in costume. New members of the Aish Shul w= ere invited to attend at no cost and the purpose of the evening was to get= closer=2C unified and meet new people. It was a raging success from the i= cebreakers=2C costumes=2C amazing meals=2C contests and group building exe= rcises.From start to finish it was a great program! We plan to continue an= nually. Nathan Fowkes=2C the world-renowned concept and visual development artist= came to Israel to conduct an exclusive three-day artist workshop in Tel A= viv. Notable clients of his include DreamWorks=2C Blue Sky and Disney. The= day before presenting the workshop he came to Jerusalem=2C which brought= him to visit the Aish World Center Observation Deck and the Hall of Notes= =2E Another OU Free Spirit Birthright group came to the Aish World Center Obse= rvation Deck. An explanation that they heard of the meaning and the centra= lity of Jerusalem greatly enhanced their visit. The Israel Experience (Israel XP) gap year program at Bar Ilan University= came to the Aish World Center. During their Western Wall Experience tour= the Observation Deck provided a great location for a group picture. Graduating students from the MIT Sloan School of Management=2C one of the= world=E2=80=99s leading business schools=2C came to the Aish World Center= =2E The view and an unexpected private visit to the Hall of Notes left them= very moved as they went after to the Kotel. Yeshivat Ashreinu=2C located in Bet Shemesh=2C came to the Aish World Cent= er and had their own private Discovery Seminar. It was a group of really successful bu= siness people who wanted to understand the direction of Aish Global and ho= w we could play a bigger role in Tel Aviv. One of the board members who is= a very successful attorney and former IDF officer explained to me that un= til he was an adult and attended an Aish event he never heard Kiddush in h= is life. 

So many times we assume that because Israelis know Hebrew and live in the= land given to us by the Almighty=2C they must know =E2=80=9CJewish stuff.= =E2=80=9D The opposite is true. There are so many Jews in Israel who= know nothing of their heritage. Aish Tel Aviv is working hard to change t= hat situation. 

The beauty of the WeWork partnership is that we have our classes there at= night when the space is fairly unoccupied. This gives so many young Israe= lis the ability to come to a space that is not intimidating. 

I couldn=E2=80=99t help but think that this= represents what Aish has always been about. For 40 years we have always t= ried to stay relevant to our brothers and sisters. We started a seminar ca= lled Discovery=2C for Jews to understand the Almighty=2C in a cutting-edge= educational way and sent it around the world. When the World Wide Web sta= rted we were right there with Aish.com. We started trips to Israel before they were popular under A= ish Fellowships and that led to the creation of JWRP and Birthright. Our v= ideos were second to none and that spawned Jerusalem U. When the time came= to advocate for Israel=2C Aish created Hasbara Fellowships and Honest Rep= orting. 

Aish HaTorah has always known one thing to be true. While the Almighty=E2= =80=99s Torah will never change the delivery mechanisms do. We need to alw= ays focus on the best way to reach out to our Jewish brothers and sisters.= You can always count on Aish to be focused on the next =E2=80=9CBig Thing= =2E=E2=80=9D So WeWork=2C here we come.

Hasbara Fe= llowships just finished their winter Israel Advocacy Training Program in I= srael! They had 55 participants on the program from 41 Universities includ= ing Cornell University=2C Rutgers University=2C San Diego State University= =2C Tulane University=2C University of Massachusetts=2C University of Mich= igan=2C University of Oregon=2C University of Pennsylvania=2C University o= f Texas=2C and Vanderbilt University.

It was an amazing group of students who are now committed to returning to= their campuses to lead the pro-Israel movement.  The participants re= ceived the most in-depth pro-Israel training available in Israel.  Th= ey saw the strategic issues Israel faces every day=2C met Israelis on the= front lines=2C and learned about the inspiring things Israel is doing to= impact the world.

They're excited now to start the new semester and to support our Hasbara F= ellows as they stand up for Israel on their campuses.

This past= Saturday night=2C the Aish Thornhill Community Shul held its fourth annua= l Progressive Dinner for our members and friends. With over 70 p= eople attending=2C the participants went all together to one home for appe= tizers and instructions. Then we broke up into small groups= of 6 - 10 people to go to a family home for the main course and we all co= ncluded with a massive dessert reception at the home of Dr's Jeffrey &= Beth Bernholtz. The program organized by ATCS member Stephen Be= ker had a Super Hero/Villain theme with many people appearing in costume.= New members of the Aish Shul were invited to attend at no cost and the pu= rpose of the evening was to get closer=2C unified and meet new people. It= was a raging success from the icebreakers=2C costumes=2C amazing mea= ls=2C contests and group building exercises.From start to finish it was a= great program! We plan to continue annually.

Aish Chile=2C the first Aish branch in Latin Amer= ica=2C arrived in Israel with a Morasha Chile Fellowship group o= n a two-week trip for their summer break. The trip is being led= by Rabbis Diego Sirota and Daniel Segal together with their families.&nbs= p;14 exceptional students who completed 80 hours of Jewish learning have b= een chosen to go on this trip. As soon as they got to their hotel from the= airport they were eager to go to the Aish World Center rooftop for its am= azing view of the Old City. Aish Chile will be traveling all around I= srael getting to experience everything the country has to offer. This Shab= bos they are spending it in the Old City. In addition to their non-st= op traveling=2C the Aish Chile students will be having classes with s= ome of Aish's most famous speakers such as Rabbi Zelig Pliskin=2C Dr. Gera= ld Schroeder=2C Rav Gav=2C Rabbi Moshe Zeldman=2C and Mrs. Gila Manolson.= They are looking forward to an inspiring and amazing rest of their trip h= ere in Israel!

Graduating stu= dents from the MIT Sloan School of Management=2C one of the world=E2=80=99= s leading business schools=2C came to the Aish World Center. The view and= an unexpected private visit to the Hall of Notes left them very moved as= they went after to the Kotel.

Yeshivat Ashre= inu=2C located in Bet Shemesh=2C came to the Aish World Center and had the= ir own private Discovery Seminar. During a break between sessions=2C they= went up to the vantage point for a group picture.

David Project= participants=2C campus leaders who came to see and learn first hand of th= e realities of life in Israel stayed on after their trip and came into the= Aish World Center. They were told that it is a definite =E2=80=9Cmust see= =E2=80=9D when in Jerusalem.
